The movie importer has been fixed. Since IMDb truly hates humanity, I've shifted over to The Movie Database for their API, which is much friendlier, less redundantly overcomplicated, and sane. It still has a few little issues, but I'll work on them as I notice them. Like currently, it doesn't grab the rating for some reason, and some composer info isn't always grabbed, but we'll figure it out.

Tested for movies, not for TV shows yet.

Trump looks set to end yet another war (which would be an astonishing 9 and counting) with negotiations taking place with, erh, someone important within the Iranian regime - Which has been wiped out several times by the way. Hopefully now Trump won't need the privilege of liberating the Iranian people from electricity and water.

#AmericanNinja (1985)

I overlooked this one for many years, but I've been on a martial arts kick and decided to finally give it a go. It's pretty good in a mid-80s sense with a hint of cheese, but it takes itself relatively seriously.

Michael Dudikoff plays Joe Armstrong, a quiet army guy who isn't looking for trouble, but trouble hones in on him. After thwarting some jerkoffs' attempt to steal a military truck, he gets put on his commanding officer's shit-list. Yeah, fuck him for defending himself, right? He even saved the guy's daughter from evil ninjas, but that means nothing to some people.

The daughter is played by Judie Aronson who played Samantha in Friday the 13th: The FInal Chapter (she's the one who got it on the raft). She's a stuck up brat who cares more about her clothes than her life, but she soon falls head over heels for Joe.

So, Joe goes on trying to mind his own business and Curtis Jackson (no, not 50 Cent) decides to pick a fight with him. Joe casually dodges all of Curtis's attacks and makes him look like a total fool, so Curtis gives in and becomes Joe's BFF. He'll need all the help he can get, because the military bosses just don't like him one bit.

Some of them are in cahoots with bad guys and ninja villains, and they try to get Joe killed. When Joe proves too resourceful for them, they get even more mad that he's not dying and it kinda snowballs from there. How dare he try to mind his own business when he ought to be dead!

I'm not gonna lie. I was pretty entertained throughout the whole thing. Fortunately, I got 4 more of these moves to go.

Joe Kent - what an asshole! He resigned in protest at the war and should be arrested and tried for treason. We can't have Republicans like him and the likes of Marjorie "Traitor" Greene and Tucker Carlson continuing to go against America's Great Leader. They need to be made examples of. And someone needs to get Megyn Kelly cancelled, giving air time to these rogues.

And fuck Joe Biden for increasing the price of gas!

#AmericanNinja3 (1989)

I don't have much to say about this one, but there's definitely one thing. We begin the movie in 1979 and a kid watches his father get killed. This kid is maybe 13, and starts receiving his martial arts training. Cut to 10 years later in "the present", this kid is now about 40 years old. That is all.

I added this so people having issues with the movie ratings can screenshot the weird symbols they're seeing, because I've tried various browsers and various accounts and I can see the movie ratings just fine.

This feature will work the same as the camera snapshots. You can save screenshots to your user drive and they'll be filed under the "snap/" directory and the date, like "snap/2026/3/22/", and public screenshots will be visible in the gallery app.

I watched a surprisingly decent found footage movie for the challenge this week called Hate Crime (2012). Got 7 points for it.

A Jewish family, who recently moved into a new neighborhood, has their home invaded by a bunch of neo-Nazis on meth. They're right in the middle of a birthday party for their youngest son, who's probably like 7 or 8. Just to let them all know they're not fucking around, one of them starts off the evening by shooting birthday boy right in the face. Everyone was pretty cooperative after that. They take the mother and tie her to a pool table and take turns raping her. One of them thought it would be funny to force the older son to rape his mom, which he didn't seem to care much for. He later gets his eye balls cut out. His sister raped and kidnapped, father beaten to death. Yeah, this is probably the most fucked up thing I've seen on Tubi. Not far off from August Underground at times. 6/10
