April Fool's Day sucks. I basically need to stay off the internet all day, because everything people say is a lie.

You guys probably think I've been slacking, but I've been working on some cool new site projects. I don't want to say much about it yet in case I get severely disillusioned during the process, but it's a lot of gimmicky and interactive horror/sci-fi stuff, and I'm also learning how to incorporate 3D javascript into it, which is much easier than I expected. I've been pretty fixated on it lately, and if it turns out good, I may actually promote it to people outside of just this site. (Wow, really?)

I've been pretty inspired recently after looking at some retro web sites. The nostalgia reminded me why I got into web development in the first place. Do you remember AOL homepage, GeoCities, and Angelfire? I sure do. And I hate that so many people think "Facebook" is the internet, when the internet used to be an outlet for all kinds of random weirdness and personal expression. We need to make the internet great again.

I watched one on the Tubi yesterday called Soft & Quiet (2022). Anyone seen this? It's one of those that the less you know about it, the better. Probably in my top 3 FTVs for this year so far. Highly recommended.

I really should add a "nausea point" to the Trash challenge, or a "discomfort point" like we used to have on Bloodwank's Extreme challenge. I was watching a lesser-known cannibal movie yesterday called Primitives, which I got a tad queasy from for a second when a bunch of children were licking afterbirth off a newborn baby. One would think all the typical qualities usually found in these movies would be more than enough, but what do I know?

Michael Jai White is a drunken army vet who has to take care of his oblivious grandmother during a home invasion. If that's not enough to sell it for you, then you can fuck right off!

Our invaders are very inept, and MJW isn't his usual invincible martial artist self, but he's still fully capable of beating the tar out of these jabronis, who don't seem to know when to give up.

It's more funny than serious, but it has some action and it's pretty entertaining. There's also some reverence to Dio, which is always a plus. Billy Zane is in here, but he's such a tool, you wont even recognize him.
