#PsychoKiller (2026)
The movie begins with our psycho killer driving down an empty highway. A highway police officer decides to pull him over for absolutely no reason, so the psycho kills him and takes off. Highway officer's wife witnesses this, and decides to hunt this jackass, and so our movie begins.
The "slasher" as he's called is a big masked beefcake with long hair whose face is always obscured by shadows. He's also a Satanist, and he thinks he's cool as shit, but all that edginess that he thinks is working in his favor is really dragging him down. Yeah, he's hacking people up with an axe, but it's often CGI blood, which ruins everything.
Eventually, highway patrol officer's wife figures out his plan, which is way bigger than a typical serial killer's plot needs to be, and takes him out. But in typical "slasher" fashion, he's still alive and in tact enough that they have to bait us with a sequel because they have too much faith that this villain can carry a franchise.
Honestly, it's not all bad. It's well made enough, but it's definitely more arrogant than it needs to be, and our guy clearly thinks he's the most imposing guy ever just because he's got plot armor.

Happy #TexasChainsawMassacre Day.
I guess we're still waiting on news about Curry Barker's new entry. I don't get why they announced it, then started announcing other projects for him. Maybe it fell through and they're hoping we forget about it?

Also #RIP Frank Beard. The drummer from ZZ Top who surprisingly did not have a beard. Age 77, started having health issues not long ago and had to quit touring. Not sure if they specified what the cause was yet.
I saw them live in 2018. They were great.

New season of #ItsAlwaysSunny tomorrow night.
I'm in the middle of like... my 5th or 6th rewatch of the series? Doesn't matter. I still find it hilarious.
Newer seasons have a few duds, but the old eps are always solid.

#RIP Reggie Bannister (1945-2026)
He'd been in the hospital for a while, so it wasn't unexpected, but it's still a major bummer. I met him about 10 years ago and he was perfectly capable and friendly then. I would never have guessed he'd be gone just a decade later. Phantasm rules, and he was a huge reason why.
Don Coscarelli wrote a nice tribute to him on X:

#ISpitOnYourGrave3 (2015)
I haven't seen this since it came out, but I needed a movie starting with "I". I forgot how good this remake series was. All three of the movies are solid, which is uncommon, and even more uncommon when the remake is better than the original.
This one has an interesting take. Jennifer Hills from the 2010 movie is living in the city under an alias, and therapy starts to circle back to familiar territory. She has serious PTSD and needs to channel that into something constructive: taking out rapists.
There's a lot of fantasizing going on in her mind. She gets carried away and wants to take it out on innocent people, or at least assholes who deserve a mere beatdown rather than brutal murder. The violence isn't as graphic as the last two, but there are definitely squeamish moments here, and Sarah Butler does a great job going from victim to unhinged vigilante. And she's hot as hell.
It really sucks that the next entry in the series, a direct sequel to the original, was an excessively long cringy piece of shit. Quit after this movie and you'll view the whole series favorably.

#GoodBoy (2025)
A guy moves to a cabin that's a real fixer-upper. It also happens to be haunted. Him and the dog start seeing shadows, and the shadow starts making the guy sick. What's a good boy supposed to do when his master is being possessed by evil?
I'd been wanting to see this for a while. A horror movie from a dog's perspective. The dog is adorable and does a great job. He must have been really confused making this movie. However, the story is paper thin, and it's kind of boring for a big chunk of it. It's mildly effective here and there, but yeah... there's really not much going on and nothing is explained. It's just a dog running from shadows. Until it isn't.

High school bullies prank and kill an ugly nerd girl. I mean, seriously... look at how ugly and nerdy this girl is. She's just asking to be made fun of, right?
This girl, however, was into witchcraft, so when she dies, it isn't permanent. She comes back and tries to bone her teacher and kill everyone responsible for her "death".
Our hideous lead actress is Jenna Dewan, who was married to Channing Tatum for about 10 years. He probably divorced her because she's such an ugly nerd.
