"unknown" horror films within a film...

A post in the Challenge thread got me thinking about this, plus I watched Deadline last night, which qualifies...

...so what are some horror films that feature other, unknown/fabricated films or films made specifically as part of the plot device for the film in which they appear. E.G. in Deadline one of the films that is currently being produced is not an actual film that I'm aware of, and in the film Found there is a fabricated (but then subsquently released) film "Headless".

...any others? And if this post doesnt make sense it's because it's 5:43am and I haven't had coffee yet 😴

I AM THE LARRWW!

This was some epic shit right here! I got to see this two weeks ago, back to back with the sequel, and it was an entertaining night indeed.

I am quickly taking a liking to director Tim Ritter, who also did an instant favourite of mine, Killing Spree!

I loved everything about this movie, from its over the top acting, to its ridiculous story telling, to its outrageous finale. Hell even the title is amazing! Dirty Cop No Donut?! How is that title not just simply amazing!

All I can say is I loved it! Those who haven't seen it, are missing out on a treat. Highly recommended!

#BewareTheBlob 1972

An oft forgotten sequel opens with some cheerful music as a kitten bumbles through a field. Next thing you know, people are getting eaten by a fucking blob from nowhere.

The film progresses in a rather dull fashion as our protagonists aren't believed by authorities until the blob is enormous. We also have a bit part with Burgess Meredith. Why he signed on to do this turkey is beyond me, but I'll take it.

The end plays out like any other blob movie. They discover its weakness and exploit it. Once it's all frozen and done with, they all decide to hang out top of its corpse and inadvertently thaw it out again and, what do you know? Setup for a sequel!

However, this movie is easily the weakest of the bunch, killing the franchise for another 15 or so years until we got the best Blob movie in 1988. Unless your a completionist, you can definitely skip this movie.

Get ready for a painful experience with this mid-90s trash! It looks like it might be decent with a scythe-wielding pumpkin-headed slasher, but not even Fred Olen Ray in the producer's chair can make this movie entertaining.

Linnea Quigley showering seductively helps, but it's still not enough. Yeah, soap up that ass! Soap up those tits, because they don't call 'em dirty pillows for nothing.

The kills are amateur and the special magic effects are crap. There's one part where the kid is getting buried alive and moans, "Nooo" in such an unenthused way, you can only assume he's answering the question no one ever asks, which is "Should I watch Jack-O?"

Super boring movie. I'm ashamed of myself for enduring through the whole thing, because there was no payoff. John Carradine is also in there somewhere, even though he died 7 years before this movie came out.

I've gotten netflix for first time I think, price here is 5 euros for the month. So I'll be watching all the horrors on that, surprised there's so few films tbh.

I finished season 1 of #AlienEarth and I'm not impressed. Inconclusive finale. Too many loose ends and it's not as profound as it thinks it is. Olyphant is good, albeit underutilized, and the best character is an eyeball.
