After young Michael killed his sister in 1963, he was sent off the to Smith's Grove. Dr. Loomis was assigned to analyze him, but Michael never moved. He never spoke. For 15 years, silence.

Orderlies had their suspicions about Michael. If an inmate was bullying Michael, he wouldn't react then, but he would react later. When no one was looking.

Several of his accused bullies would end up hurt, or even dead. Workers had no proof that Michael was involved, but Dr. Loomis knew. After eight years of trying to get through to Michael, he finally gave up.

Loomis began actively campaigning to keep Michael locked up. Any time there was a hearing to reconsider the Myers case, Loomis would oppose it, stating that Michael was putting on a false front of catatonia.

15 years after being incarcerated, Michael decided to escape. One by one, he let all the inmates out of their cells to cause a panic. In the chaos, he slipped out unseen.

Dr. Loomis had just arrived to oversee Michael's transfer to a maximum security facility when Michael stole the car and drove off. He was heading to Haddonfield where he would commit one of the most notorious crimes in American history.
