Dr. Samuel Loomis

Michael's Psychiatrist

Sam Loomis

Doctor Samuel Loomis was assigned as Michael's psychiatrist in 1963. He spent years trying to reach Michael, but he lost hope and began to realize that Michael was a lost cause. He believed Michael was tricking everyone into thinking he was harmless. It turns out that he was right.

The night before Halloween in 1978, Michael was supposed to stand trial for Judith's murder since he was legally an adult. Loomis thought that Michael was dangerous and wanted to keep him sedated. Eveyrone thought Loomis was overreacting... until Michael escaped.

Loomis tried warning the police, but no one believed that Michael was capable of being dangerous since he barely moved in 15 years. He followed Michael's trail all the way to Haddonfield and eventually found the car that Michael stole. When the kids that Laurie Strode was babysitting ran out of the Doyle house screaming, Dr. Loomis knew that Michael was close. He went into the house and find Michael trying to kill Laurie. Loomis shot Michael, but he got away.

Later that night, Dr. Loomis went back to the hospital to check on Laurie and found Michael was after her again. Loomis helped Laurie get away by starting a fire that almost killed both MIchael & Loomis. Michael didn't die, though. Instead, he was put in a coma that lasted 10 years.

In 1988, Michael woke from his coma and went back to Haddonfield. Dr. Loomis followed him back there to warn people, but people still didn't take him seriously.

Laurie Strode had a daughter named Jamie and Loomis believed that she was Michael's new target. Loomis teamed up with sheriff Ben Meeker to hunt down Michael, who seemed deadlier than ever. Michael had already killed around a dozen people before the police shot him. They thought they killed him and took Jamie home, but that's when something truly creepy happened. Jamie stabbed her foster mom, and Loomis thought she was turning into the next Michael.

Over the following year, Loomis never trusted Jamie and felt that she knew where Michael was. On Halloween, Michael came back. Loomis decided to set a trap for Michael at the Myers house and they captured & arrested Michael. Then at the police station, a mysterious figure killed many police officers and broke MIchael out of jail. Jamie disappeard that night and wouldn't be found until years later.

Over the next 6 years, Loomis was losing hope in ever solving the Myers case. Instead, he began focusing on his health and memoirs, until Tommy Doyle (the boy Laurie was babysitting on Halloween) helped uncover Michael's plan. Together, Sam & Tommy learned that Dr. Terrence Wynn from Smith's Grove was trying to control Michael. They managed to stop Michael, but Wynn got away and Loomis died shortly after.

People say he died of a heart attack, but others believe he simply gave up because Michael couldn't be stopped despite all of his efforts. He is survived by his son David Loomis, who is also a psychiatrist.

RIP (1922 - 1995)
