Maybe that's why I want to see it anyway. Not because it'll be fun, but because sometimes it's easier to watch somebody else's nightmare than try to make sense of your own.

Apocalyptic drama based on the Cormac McCarthy novel about a father and son trying to survive after some unspecified cataclysm wipes out most of civilization. Viggo Mortensen is the dad. Looks incredibly depressing, which probably means it's right up our alley.

It's true. Her real name was Angel Myers. The Strodes adopted her after what happened in the 90s. They kept it quiet because they wanted to protect her. Then Loomis puts it in a fucking book for the whole world to find out.

I don't even know what to make of that.

I read Loomis's new book. It says Laurie is Michael's sister.

The news keeps talking about Michael Myers. He came back.

Is there an endgame, or is this thing going to get infinitely contrived? They keep adding another layer to the Jigsaw story every time you think they've run out of layers. At some point there can't possibly be another secret apprentice hiding in the closet.

Even though the Deb/Lundy romance was weird, I almost get it. Keith Carradine is so charming, you forget he's a huge threat to Dexter. I guess they had to write him off sooner or later. There's no way he could stick around and not figure out who Dexter really is.

John Lithgow is really good in this. You can already tell he's going to be one of Dexter's better enemies.

Yeah, the whole point is that you're waiting for something to happen. Most movies would just show you the demon immediately. Here you're watching the couple go to bed and wondering if tonight is the night something happens. I can see why people either love that or find it painfully boring.

Still making a killing at the box office, though. Word of mouth is apparently insane for this thing. People are saying it's one of those movies where the audience gets more freaked out than the actual movie.

Looks like it's got that Grindhouse vibe going for it, but with way more comedy. The fake trailers and deliberately cheap-looking stuff were probably the best part of Grindhouse, so I'm interested to see somebody build an entire movie around that idea. I'll keep an eye out for it.

Jocelin Donahue was gorgeous in this. Ti West has a future in horror if he keeps making stuff like this.

I can't take him seriously after Third Rock from the Sun. Every time I see him I expect him to start yelling about being an alien.

Was expecting a totally different ending. Tarantino just rewrote history. lol. I knew it wasn't going to be historically accurate, but I wasn't expecting him to go THAT far with it.

The documentary thing was probably my favorite part. Makes it feel like you're watching some weird news report about something that already happened instead of sitting through another standard alien invasion movie.

Yeah, well not everything needs a sequel. A prequel on the other hand? You could show how Esther got started and how many families she pulled this shit on before this one.

Vitiligo. It's a skin condition that can cause loss of pigmentation. He also used makeup to even out the color. Not exactly some mysterious thing where he just decided to become white.

The TV show was actually pretty good. That had balls and wasn't afraid to kill people. Derek Reese? Strong ally for two seasons. Terminator comes along and shoots him in the head. Boom. Didn't milk his death with a drawn-out dying scene either. Instant. Effective. Unlike anything in this movie.

The hybrid concept was dumb. You can kill Reese at any time, but no. Use him as bait. Because apparently that's the smartest strategy the machines could come up with.

YES. Read them all. Seriously. You'll probably find them in the store, because people are stupid and sell it because they don't "get" it. The movie follows the book pretty closely, but there's a lot more going on in the comic, especially with the little bits of history and the stuff between chapters. It's one of those things where you finish it and immediately want to go back and reread it.

Just saw Watchmen. Zack Snyder's comic adaptation is actually pretty damn good. Dark, stylish, and surprisingly faithful to the source material. I was expecting them to screw up at least half of it, but they managed to keep most of the weird stuff intact. Definitely not your standard superhero movie.
