THE FLOOR

WELCOME TO THE BACK COUNTER.

Before you scroll down or launch the chat link, let's get one thing straight: This isn't a corporate internet cafe. We don't have pastel colors, we don't serve blended iced milkshakes topped with cookie crumbs, and our bandwidth is strictly reserved for people who actually understand rhythm sections. The Polaroids below are a record of the people who helped build this room before the neighborhood curdled into a corporate parking lot.

THE DISCIPLINARY CODES ARE SIMPLE:

  • No Digital Littering
If you are here to pitch your digital startup or drop links to your generic radio-rock band's homepage, your session will be manually terminated.
  • Respect the Archive
The photos on the corkboard are real history. Keep your greasy digital fingerprints off the glass.
  • Keep the Noise Down
The IRC link below connects directly to the local grid. If you start spamming the text buffer with capital letters, the server scripts are optimized to dump you into a permanent timeout block.

THE HOLE CORKBOARD

  • FOUND: One copy of Black Sabbath’s Vol. 4 on cassette in the cushion of the corner couch. Tape is slightly chewed near 'Supernaut.' Claim it at the register by identifying the exact color of the plastic case shell. If nobody claims it by Tuesday, it belongs to the shop stereo.
  • WANTED: A reliable weekend dishwasher who doesn't complain about the water temperature or spend their entire shift hiding in the alleyway checking their mobile device. Metal proficiency preferred. See Meat.
  • NOTICE TO ALL CUSTOMERS: Stop adjusting the contrast knob on the CRT television mounted over the espresso machine. The screen hue is permanently locked to midnight-blue for a reason. If you want a brighter picture, go sit outside on the sidewalk.
  • ALERT: To the person who left their half-empty cup of dark roast sitting on top of the vintage pinball cabinet on Friday night: You are banned for two weeks. Use a coaster or use the exit door.
