I actually like this movie. Artsy, weird, and deeply disturbing. There's probably some kind of social commentary in there somewhere, too.

RDJ putting on blackface and people not only aren't offended... they're loving it.

The crime/drama stuff was awesome. I'm glad they made it more grounded instead of turning it into another colorful superhero cartoon.

And if he turns out to be a shit president, then we can point and gloat.

That's the problem with time travel. Eventually somebody has to start drawing diagrams on a fucking whiteboard just to explain what year it is.

You can blame him for making a movie where the songs take up half the fucking runtime, though. I actually liked the story and the production design. The whole thing looks great. I just kept wishing everybody would stop singing and get on with it.

Definitely one of the darkest movies I've seen. I don't know if I'd ever recommend it to somebody as something they should watch for fun, but it's hard to forget.

What did everybody think of the ending? Not quite sure I understood it. Felt like Sopranos all over again.

Javier Bardem is about to jump on all the greatest villains lists.

Obviously, I'm into body horror stuff, so anything by Cronenberg. I also love The Thing, and even some werewolf stuff like The Howling, or American Werewolf in London. Anything with grotesque transformations that's heavy on practical effects.

Well in this case, I think they just like the actors who are working with the dark material. They can fantasize about weird shit safely when it's fictional.

Maybe. Or maybe people will pay more because they don't have to. But really, they'll probably just download it still.
