We finally got another extreme French horror flick to add to that alleged "New French Extremity" wave everyone's been talking about. Martyrs is pretty brutal even by those standards. Lots of torture, but it actually seems like it's trying to do something with all the violence instead of just seeing how much gore it can throw at you. Still, definitely not an easy watch.

I wasn't even sure if Thomas Dekker died or not. Maybe this is one of the show's alternate timelines. Don't worry, guys. We still might have a chance against Skynet.

She plays annoying characters, but she seems like a pretty cool chick in interviews. Totally into whatever he asks her to do. They actually seem like the perfect couple. I'd love to find somebody who was that into my weird shit.

The cover art looked cool, so I figured I'd give this one a shot. Tech-looking killer running around recording his kills, and it gets pretty graphic. Some really nasty kills, especially toward the end. The ending for the killer was pretty satisfying too.

Jeff Beck isn't bad either, but I don't know if I'd call him Hall of Fame material. He's obviously talented and influential, but if you're going to have a limited number of spots, there are a lot of bands I'd put ahead of him.

Overall, it felt way too similar to TCM in style and aesthetic. Didn't really feel like Friday the 13th to me.

Kind of a horror movie for kids. Glad we're shaping the youth in the right direction.
