You don't understand any movie endings, so what's new?

Derek Mears was great as Jason, though. He actually felt like a physical threat instead of just some guy in a hockey mask. Not a fan of the coat, though. It looked like crap in Freddy vs. Jason and it looks like crap here. Harold's ill-fitting garment was the definitive look.

The franchise is dead. Jason X took him off the playing field for the next 400 fucking years. The only thing they could do to fix the series is start over.

Tim Burton didn't direct this movie.

This movie already made its budget back, so expect a sequel. If I were the bad guys, I'd kidnap his wife and keep her for myself. I don't care if Liam Neeson comes along and takes me out. It'd be worth it.

I'll pass.

And how the fuck is Paul Sorvino in this? Paulie may have moved slow, but it was only because Paulie didn't have to move for anybody.

When they first announced this, weren't they saying it was going to be a new Dirty Harry movie? Guess that's not the case.

Yeah, the way they showed what happened to his face was pretty nasty. And I liked that Jigsaw actually looked like he'd been through something instead of just getting a scar and suddenly becoming a supervillain.

Doesn't matter. He'll get a new girl in the next movie like he always does. He's a misogynist anyway. And that's why we love him.

Los Angeles? Canada? Who cares.

Whenever a writer sets something in an unnamed city, it's supposed to be ambiguous. Is it Chicago? New York? That's how they get under your skin. They'll probably keep it vague on purpose.

Obviously, you're not paying attention. He tells you why he's doing it.

A general clusterfuck, that's what.

There's a narrative technique called lampshading where you get around having an absurd plot by simply acknowledging that it's absurd. That's what this movie did with J.K. Simmons at the end.

Doesn't bother me. If the movie is entertaining, I'll watch it. And guess what, guys? We're living in the golden age of cinema.

Aaron Eckhart was really good too, but Heath just kills it.

Supposedly it's heavily inspired by Heat. You can definitely see the Michael Mann influence in the crime stuff and the way the cops and criminals are treated.

Ever hear of jumping the shark? Well, now we have nuking the fridge. That alone is going to kill the franchise for at least 10 years.

So magical arcs that melt people's faces and cursed potatoes and goblets are fine, but aliens are where you draw the line?
