After everything Dexter did this season, I really thought he was finally going to get his shit together. That ending is just cruel. Amazing and poetic, but FUCK.

Did Laurie even know about this?

All I know is there was a shootout. Michael is dead. Loomis is dead too. And Laurie is in a coma.

The sheriff's office is saying they got a 911 call from his own house. Annie's dead too. I don't know what the hell is going on.

Can't fault Tobin Bell for taking it. It's job security. At least he gets to keep showing up while everyone else gets strapped to a table and blown apart.

Time for the obligatory Saw sequel. Sawquel? Whatever it is, Sean Patrick Flanery must be desperate for money to do this. We're six movies deep now and somehow they're still finding new ways to put people in elaborate contraptions.

Damn, they killed Lundy! =( I actually liked him. I figured he'd be around for the whole season, especially with him coming back to Miami.

The last act was pretty effective, though. Once Katie starts acting differently, it gets less "something moved in the bedroom" and more "okay, something is seriously wrong with this woman." I still don't think it's the masterpiece everybody says it is.

Expect another subpar franchise then. At least these stupid Saw movies have high production values. Paranormal Activity looks like somebody left a camera running in their house and decided to charge admission.

Sam is iconic. This is definitely going to be a franchise.

LOVED IT. Most atmospheric Halloween movie I've seen in forever. Brian Cox's segment was my favorite. The whole thing actually feels like Halloween instead of just having Halloween decorations in the background.

She was the perfect final girl. I also liked seeing Tom Noonan again. Dude can make standing around looking creepy seem like a profession.

Anyone excited for the new season? Season 3 was decent, but I'm hoping s4 will be better. The first two seasons set a pretty high bar.

EDIT: I looked it up and Pulp Fiction did win a few.

I don't think I'd mind a sequel if they actually have a story. I'd rather wait five years for something good than get District 10 next summer because somebody wants another paycheck.

Yeah, and the corporation guy was a fucking psychopath. I liked that he wasn't some supervillain giving speeches about world domination. He was just a bureaucrat who wanted to get his hands on the weapons. Somehow that's worse.

Supposed to be the Halo movie until they reworked it. Blomkamp does good sci-fi. I wasn't expecting much from this one, but the whole documentary/news footage setup actually worked for me. The aliens feel more like refugees than movie monsters, and then it slowly turns into a pretty nasty action movie. Didn't expect the main guy to get quite that fucked up either.

Well, there probably won't be a sequel since the actress, well... ages. Kind of hard to keep making Orphan movies when your evil child suddenly looks like she's old enough to rent a car.

If you don't like him, you can beat it.

Really? I liked it. It's campy as hell, but that's kind of what I expected from Raimi.
