#DontBreathe2 (2021)

It's been a while since I saw the first one, which was a decent home invasion flick where the robbers get more than they bargained for when their blind target turns out to be a badass fully capable of destroying them all. Of course, he's no hero in that situation, because he was somewhat of an indirect rapist holding people captive and throwing himself a pity party over the loss of his family. An overall decent flick.

A few years later, they released a sequel, since the blind old man was still very much alive at the end. Here, we get a different story with him having a surrogate daughter that he rescued from a bad situation when she was really young. Despite the 5 year difference in the films, this one is set 8 years after the first one, and lo and behold, more shady folk are about to intrude upon the blind man's homestead with devious intent.

The movie starts as another home invasion plot, then turns into a kidnap and rescue mission. Without spoiling too much of the plot, it's safe to say that they turn the villainous blind man into a heroic figure. Normally, you'd root against him, but since the people he's targeting are such assholes, you'll find some glee in their downfall. It's violent and entertaining enough, and Stephen Lang kicks some ass.

Don't expect a part 3, but never say never.

So how do you rate "so bad they're good" movies?

After watching Troll 2 and The Room, I'm struggling with this. I can't rate them 9-10 because that would put them alongside movies like Goodfellas and Pulp Fiction, etc. which would seem crazy to me. I can't rate them a 1-2 because they're not as godawful as some of those movies which are bad without any redeeming features. And if I rate them a 5/10, that would make it seem as if they come across as "meh" movies and these are anything but boring/average.

So I've sort of settled on a 1-5 scale within the 1-10 rating system with a 5 being the pinnacle of bad movies. But I don't know, I know some people rate movies based purely on entertainment value... it's still a puzzler, at least to me.

Anybody going to see the new #Predator movie?

I'll try to see it Wednesday. The new predator looks like a jabroni, but it might be an interesting dynamic with a hero yautja and I like that they're tying in the Alien lore with a synthetic character. Prey was okay, so I'm optimistic. I haven't hate any of these movies yet, but leave it to Disney to screw it up! PG-13 isn't a good start.

How do I find posts I’ve made? I’m trying to look at the October Challenge and 2025 Viewings but at the moment I can only find them by trawling through each page of the front screen until I come to the right thread. When I go to My Profile it only shows 2 posts I’ve made from years ago and doesn’t show anything else.

After getting fired for chatting with his female students online, an unhinged teacher goes on a killing spree, targeting the girl students at a slumber party.

This movie is by no means good, but at least the these slutty "teenage" girls are hot. The score is stupid and the budget is microscopic. Our killer's costume consists of a purple beanie with eye-holes cut out of it, and... well, that's the whole costume. He's a tool without a good motive, going after dumb girls without personalities. You can't root for either of them. At least the movie is short.

A 2022 sequel that nobody asked for. This Full Moon stinker was directed by Brinke Stevens and features some of the original cast in green screened cameos, because this movie must have been shot in a week or less on a shoe-string budget.

This movie is only about an hour long, and they don't even get to the bowling alley until a half hour into it. The babes have to steal a bowling trophy and inadvertently free the dumb-ass imp/genie, who asks them for their wishes. This fucker is made out of rubber and the effects are terrible, even for Full Moon standards.

Honestly, I don't know anybody who genuinely enjoys these lazy-ass Full Moon movies. Charles Band made some okay stuff back in the day, but now the company settles on the worst, most uninspired crap they can muster.

I love Trancers and Dollman, but that's mostly because I love Tim Thomerson. I'm not really impressed with any other Full Moon movies that I see, and this certainly is no exception.
