#ViolentCity (1970)

Jeff (Charles Bronson) is a hitman going against Al (Telly Savalas) and falling in love with Vanessa (Jill Ireland), a girl he's supposed to take out. Jill was Bronson's main squeeze in life, having stolen her David McCallum, so the lust is real!

This movie is Italian and feels like it. It starts off with a great car chase through the claustrophobic streets of the Virgin Islands. I normally don't care for car chases, but this one grabbed me. There's something captivating about that Italian style.

Things calm down a bit for most of the movie, but Charlie always plays it cool and the Ennio Morricone score helps a lot. It came out in 1970, but the movie was trying to cash in on the success of The Godfather for its 1973 U.S. release, but the only real similarity is a crime boss.

One of the better Bronson flicks I've seen outside of the Death Wish series, and an interesting downer finale.
