#ThePunisher: #OneLastKill (2026)

This came out last night and I watched it immediately. Marvel has a slew of NYC street-level content this year, and I'm loving it. This one is but a mere 50 minutes, but they packed it full of punishment to make it worthwhile.

Jon Bernthal celebrates 10 years of playing Frank Castle. He wrote it with the input of real PTSD military vets to give us a hardcore outing before he does his soft PG-13 Spider-Man take on the character (Punisher was first introduced in a Spider-Man comic, so they needed to cross paths eventually).

The story of this is pretty simple. Frank is on a downward spiral. He's at a loss of purpose and ready to blow his brains out when Ma Gnucci comes up to him asking him for help. Her whole family has been murdered and she wants revenge on the guy who did it. The only problem is that Frank Castle murdered her family, and he can "help" by entertaining her as he fights for his life. Ma Gnucci put a bounty on his head, and dozens upon dozens of lowlife thugs are coming for him. Frank Castle needed a reason to crawl out of his hole, and boy, did she give him one.

A lot of it is set in an apartment complex, so it takes strong influence in The Raid. Considering the dystopian delinquent state of NYC, it also takes heavy inspiration from Mamdani's New York. It warms my heart knowing that Disney is putting out content like this where cute little dogs aren't even safe. Bernthal kick ass, and even if you're not a fan of Marvel's hit-or-miss slate, you can jump right into this one for one hell of a violent romp.
