This is an ambitious fan film with high production values set between Kills and Ends. Running at 2 hours and 15 minutes, this might seem excessive, and it is.
I hate to say it for all the hard work they put into it, but this movie is boring. It could be an hour shorter and it might still be too long. The pacing is a real problem as the dialogue scenes go on for too long and aren't interesting. The setting is good and reminiscent of Haddonfield, and I think some scenes are actually filmed in familiar locations. There are a few easter eggs, but they feel pretty forced. How many times do I have to hear "Don't Fear the Reaper" in a Halloween fan film? After appearing in 3 of the movies, enough is enough. The thorn constellation was okay, though.
They try to milk our sympathy gland too hard for all these mediocre characters. Myers is okay for the most part, but there are moments when he looks awkward and not appropriately shaped and he's got young person skin for being an old man.
I really wanted to like the movie, but it'll make all the haters appreciate Ends more. As far as fan films go, I much prefer Halloween: Inferno, an alternate reality version of Kills. That movie was dope.
