#BloodyMoon (1981)

I'm starting off trash month with this Spanish video nasty about a psycho at an all-girls school. Miguel has a disfigured face (obvious prosthetics), so he's a natural creepy weirdo with a violent history. When Angela arrives to the school, she unwittingly ventures into a shit-show of slasher whodunnit as our protagonist.

Our heroine Angela is attractive, but she's delusional and very stupid. Every character in this movie is dumb. You tell someone you saw a dead body and they're so quick to write you off like it's in your imagination, because you read too many murder mysteries. Yeah, Angela is blown off, but she's still stupid and incompetent, and so are her friends. One of them is faking sex and gets caught, then vows revenge on her friends for laughing at her? WTF is this shit? 😆 And the boyfriend-ish type is also a tool who keeps getting kicked out by the dickhead in charge. And Miguel isn't just ugly, but he's clearly retarded, too. At the end, he has the opportunity to do the right thing, but instead goes completely berserk, but at least he goes out swinging.

The music in this movie sounds like blobby drops of water. The kills are okay, the plot twist is extremely basic, and the whole thing is tinged with incompetence. Don't let that dissuade you, though. If you like badly-dubbed foreign horror from this era, this movie is for you.
